PROJECT: Congress Theatre Eastbourne

Client: Vinci

Location: Congress Theatre Eastbourne

Project Length: xxx

Project Overview

The project involved the careful removal of existing masonry walls and structural slab in the basement of the grade II* building, this work had to be carried out without damage to the existing fixtures and fittings.

Scope of works

Demolition of the existing basement walls and high level structural concrete slab.

BD Nuclear had to protect the existing floor and grade 2 listed fixtures and fittings prior to work commencing.

Walls and slab were crunched using our Husqvarna DXR140 demolition robot using the concrete crusher attachment to prevent vibration damaging the building.

Noise was also an issue on this project due to close proximity to the neighbouring Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis club.
Rubble was removed from the basement using two conveyers, significantly reducing programme.

Comments

Project was completed without interruption to the adjoining neighbours, and without down time due to stoppages due to noise, by using the DCR100 crushing attachment on our demolition robot.

The project was completed safely and ahead of schedule.
