Project Overview
BD Nuclear were tasked to cut up a heavily contaminated sludge tank. The tank measured 7m long, weighed 13 tonnes and was lined with a rubber coating.
BD Nuclear designed and built a bespoke cutting rig as the process had to be undertaken semi remote due to significant radiation levels. The tank was halved and then cut into sections. The finished tank sections fitted inside each other for efficient waste packing.
